Shipping Policy

This Shipping Policy explains how Horology Choice ("HC") manages shipping fees, delivery methods, timelines, packaging, insurance, and dispatch arrangements.

By placing an order, you agree to the terms below. This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and FAQ.

1Shipping Fee Structure

1.1 Country-Based Maximum Rate (Air Freight Baseline)

  • HC displays a fixed maximum shipping rate for each destination country.

  • This amount represents the highest possible air freight cost for that region.

  • Customers will pay this maximum rate at checkout.

1.2 Actual Shipping Cost Adjustment (Refund When Lower)

After your order is packed:

If the actual shipping cost is lower:
→ HC will refund the difference automatically.

If the actual shipping cost is higher:
→ HC will cover the additional amount and will never request a top-up.

This ensures fairness and transparency for all destinations.

1.3 No Hidden Fees

HC does not impose undisclosed shipping charges. The amount shown at checkout is the maximum you will ever pay.

2Available Shipping Methods

2.1 Air Freight (Default Method)

Air freight is the standard shipping method for all orders due to its reliability, tracking accuracy, and shorter transit times.

2.2 Sea Freight, Land Freight, and Combined Methods

If your destination country supports sea freight, land freight, or land + air combined routes, HC will provide these options during shipping confirmation.

  • These alternative methods are available even for small orders, upon customer request.

  • For small/light parcels, air freight is still recommended, as sea freight may not be cost-effective.

2.3 Same Pricing Rule Applies (Multi-Mode Eligible)

Regardless of the method chosen:

Any difference between the collected maximum rate and the actual cost will be refunded. Customers will never be charged more.

3Delivery Timeframes

3.1 Processing Time

All orders require 1–3 business days for processing, packing, and verification.

3.2 Transit Time Estimates (Air Freight)

Delivery times below are based on air freight only and counted from the date of dispatch:

Oceania (AU/NZ)5–10 business days
Europe7–14 business days
North America7–14 business days
Middle East7–14 business days

Sea freight timelines vary significantly and will be informed individually upon customer request.

3.3 Possible Delays

Transit times may be affected by:

  • Customs inspections

  • Peak season congestion

  • Weather disruptions

  • Carrier limitations

  • Remote delivery zones

HC is not responsible for delays caused by couriers or customs processes.

4Packaging & Handling

HC uses reinforced protective packaging suitable for precision tools and instruments:

  • Multi-layer protection

  • Bubble wrapping and internal fillers

  • Tamper-evident sealing (where applicable)

  • Heavy or sensitive items reinforced as needed

Wooden crate reinforcement can be arranged for high-value shipments upon request.

5Shipping Insurance

5.1 Optional Add-On Insurance

Customers may request shipment insurance. If insurance is declined, HC is not liable for courier-caused loss or damage.

5.2 Damage Claims

If your package arrives damaged, notify HC within 48 hours and provide:

  • Photos of the outer packaging

  • Photos of all items and accessories

  • Screenshot/photo of the shipping label

  • Unboxing video (strongly recommended)

Claims without visual proof may be rejected by carriers.

6Customs, Duties & Taxes

6.1 Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU)

All international shipments are sent under DDU terms. Import duties, VAT/GST, brokerage fees, or customs clearance charges are the responsibility of the customer.

6.2 Restricted Destinations

HC currently does not ship to:

  • Mainland China

  • Thailand (local e-commerce registration restrictions)

7Undeliverable or Returned Shipments

If a shipment is returned due to:

  • Incorrect or incomplete address

  • Failure to accept delivery

  • Unpaid customs charges

  • Refusal by the receiver

The customer may be responsible for return shipping fees or re-delivery costs. Refund eligibility follows the rules outlined in the Returns section of our T&C and FAQ.

8Relationship With Other Policies

This Shipping Policy forms part of Horology Choice's overall policy framework. It must be read together with:

  • Terms & Conditions

  • Privacy Policy

  • FAQ

In case of any inconsistency, the Terms & Conditions shall prevail.
